MRS Group shot 2017

Early in the morning of Monday, May 1st, twenty-seven UM faculty began a week-long bus tour of the state of Michigan. Over the course of the week, the bus would travel nearly 1300 miles and included visiting two peninsulas, eight cities, one island and two rivers. The Road Scholars faculty travelled by bus, by boat and by ferry. They visited a winery, an urban farm, a military base, corporate headquarters and a ballpark. Listened and questioned over 50 speakers during presentations of 30 site visits. The group heard from Native Americans, social workers, urban farmers, school superintendents, elected officials, water resource experts, pharmacists, artists and numerous other specialists in their respective fields.   Read more
